Vroam Community Guidelines
Last updated: August 3, 2026 Effective date: August 3, 2026
Vroam is built on trust. When you post a public community pin, other travelers rely on it to decide where to go. These guidelines keep Vroam useful, accurate, and safe. They are part of our Terms of Use; breaking them can get your content removed or your account suspended.
By posting public content, you also agree that your username and public pins are visible to other users and the public. Do not post anything you would not want publicly tied to your name.
Post good, honest places
- Keep it real and accurate. Post places that actually exist, with the correct location, type, and details. Do not misrepresent a place.
- Keep it legal. Only share places where overnight stays or the described use are actually allowed. Do not post spots that require illegal trespass, unlawful camping, or unlawful parking, and do not encourage others to break the law.
- Keep it safe. Do not post content that encourages dangerous behavior or puts others at risk. Vroam is a planning tool, not a substitute for checking signage, local rules, and current conditions.
- Respect private property and the outdoors. Do not direct people onto private land without permission. Follow Leave No Trace.
Do not post
- Illegal content, or content that promotes illegal trespass, camping, parking, or other unlawful or unsafe activity.
- Content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or other rights (only post photos and text you have the right to share).
- Harassment, hate, or threats, including attacks based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Sexual, obscene, or graphically violent content.
- Other people’s private information (doxxing), such as home addresses, phone numbers, or plates, without consent.
- Spam, ads, commercial listings, or scams, including promotional pins and repetitive or misleading posts.
- Impersonation of another person, brand, or Vroam.
- False or dangerously misleading information about a place’s legality, safety, or details.
Keep it honest
These rules apply to community pins now, and to reviews, ratings, and photos as those features arrive:
- Post from genuine, first-hand experience. Don’t post places, reviews, or ratings for spots you haven’t actually visited.
- No fake or manipulated content. Don’t post fake reviews or ratings, use multiple accounts, or try to manipulate ratings, votes, or a place’s visibility.
- No paid or incentivized posts. Don’t accept payment or other compensation to post, change, or remove content, and don’t offer it to others.
- No reviewing your own place. If you own, manage, or are affiliated with a location, don’t post reviews or ratings of it as if you were an ordinary traveler. Disclose your affiliation.
Reporting and moderation
- If you see content that breaks these guidelines, report it in the app (or block the user). You can also email support@vroam.io.
- Vroam uses a post-moderation model: content can appear before it is reviewed, and we review it when it is reported or as we see fit. We aim to review reports within about 24 hours.
- We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines or the Terms, at our discretion. Serious or repeated violations, and any content that endangers people, are prioritized.
- We are not obligated to monitor all content, and community content is contributed by users and not verified by Vroam. Always use your own judgment.
